July 2021Centuries of generations have understood that numerical truths are inherent in mathematics. But a new theory proposes that getting the correct answer in a math equation is likely racist. And politically correct educators are taking it seriously. Known best as “equitable math,” the vacuous concept has legs partly because of a full-blown curriculum supported with a $1 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

A recent Twitter screenshot of EquitableMath.org said, “White supremacy culture shows up in math classrooms when ... the focus is on getting the ‘right’ answer.”

The next paragraph declared, “Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers [in mathematics] perpetuates objectivity.”

It is uncertain how many schools have adopted the curriculum, but the website identifies a number of “partners” in California including the Association of California School Administrators.
