April 2015 – Mike Phillips, founder of All In Ministry, recently shared with AFA Journal the vision God has given him for challenging Christians to live fully for Christ.

AFA Journal: What is your background?
Mike Phillips: I graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in information systems decision sciences in 2000. Soon after graduation, I joined a firm that offered custom software development services.

AFAJ: How did you sense a call to ministry?
MP:
I could sense in my spirit that God was preparing me for something. He let me know that I wasn’t “all in” because I was trusting in the provision He had given me instead of in Him as my Provider. He also showed me that millions of other Christians in America weren’t all in either, and He wanted me to do something about it. I resigned my position, sold my stock in the company, and decided to trust the Provider not the provision.

AFAJ: How did you develop All In?
MP: God has given me small pieces of the plan at a time. He would reveal as much of the plan as I was capable of consuming. It has taken almost three years for me to clearly understand how we would accomplish what God has called us to do. In the process, God has taught me how to trust His grace every day.

AFAJ:What is your ministry’s primary focus?
MP: God has given us a specific message for the American church. The problems facing our great nation are more complicated and more important than politics alone. Our problems are rooted in spiritual warfare. Although 220 million people identify themselves as Christians, many called to the battlefield for God have become bystanders – neutralized by the enemy.

The All In Movement was created to engage and mobilize the people of God to build a community of fully committed Christians across America. The movement will include people from all walks of life and span multiple Christian denominations, but will be held together by a common set of values and a single purpose – to show the love of God to others.

AFAJ: How did you come to partner with Mike Huckabee?
MP: God gave me the idea for a national day of service. Weeks later, Gov. Huckabee was going to be in Baton Rouge at an event, and although I didn’t know him at all, God told me to be bold. At the event I stood in line to speak with Gov. Huckabee and told him, “God told me to approach you about coming on your show to introduce the ministry He has given me to the world and partner to host a national day of service.” I explained a little more and the governor said, “I’ll get to work on that.”

AFAJ: What resources does All In offer?
MP: Our website and mobile application have videos, devotionals, and a weekly blog, all focused on helping Christians live their lives All In. The day after the Good Friday event, we will be launching a continuous “serve campaign” that will offer people a serving idea each week, challenging them to inspire others to serve as Christ served.  undefined

Do Good Friday – This Good Friday event introduces All In by challenging Christians to do a good deed for someone on April 3 (dogoodfriday2015.com). Following that, All In has a vision to evangelize cities across America for four to six weeks at a time through innovative movie-theater campaigns, radio, TV, and outdoor advertising.

“We will partner with local churches, community organizations, business leaders, and Christian schools,” Phillips said. “Upon leaving a city, we will have established a community of All In difference makers for God.”
