June 2015 – America Cannot Wait is a capital fundraising campaign of American Family Association. The goal is to underwrite the establishment of a new radio station in Northern Virginia. The station will broadcast the programming of AFRTalk, the Christian conservative format of American Family Radio network. AFA operates on a no-debt policy.
America cannot wait another generation to return to the fountainhead from which emerged the greatest nation in history. That source was the wisdom of our Founding Fathers who fashioned a republic to reflect “the laws of nature and nature’s God.”
But now in 2015, the heart of America has become hardened to the things of God. His truth is being ignored, minimized, and mocked by dominant secular voices in our society.
We the People are on the verge of squandering the inheritance bequeathed to us from those who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor that we might be free. This nation, founded upon a respect for Judeo-Christian views of man, nature, and government, soon must regain that respect lest freedom give way to oppression, and democratic ideals are trampled underfoot by tyrants. This has been the pattern of history.
America cannot wait
In the coming months, decisions will be made that could bring America to a cultural and political point of no return, after which the nation will no longer embody the freedom and liberty that is our blood-bought inheritance.
Our America may not exist for our children and grandchildren.
Defending the honor of God and the future of our families, Christians must not surrender to the secularist vision. Resisting that godless utopia has been, and continues to be, the motivation of all who come together under the banner of American Family Association.
For over 38 years, AFA has attempted to speak to the hearts of Americans through all of our various media outlets. We believe that the Scripture teaches only when hearts and minds change, will cultures change; and only when cultures change, will nations change. Our adversaries have proven that over the last half-century.
But, we are also convinced that God is working through AFA to establish a stronghold of faith in a major area of influence in our nation.
In November 2014, an AFA engineer working on another project uncovered an opportunity to broadcast the signal of American Family Radio into a wide area west of the Potomac River in Northern Virginia, on the outskirts of Washington, D.C.
We quickly recognized the opportunity to bypass the dominant secular media and speak God’s truth every day into the minds and hearts of those who raise their families in those highly populated communities, but travel into the nation’s capital where they earn their living.
Our message is not aimed at politicians or institutions, but at people. It is a message that supports, encourages, and inspires the men and women, including many Christians, whose jobs and careers maintain every function of our government.
It is first a clear message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then it asks how that gospel should impact every area of life: our families, our laws, our policies, our communities, our entertainment choices, our careers, and more.
AFA has already spent over $1 million toward purchasing the resources necessary to broadcast American Family Radio into this strategic corridor. When the project is complete and the signal is on the air, startup costs will exceed $2 million.
Your gift toward offsetting those costs means that your voice – the voice of Christian America – will be heard at the gates of the center of power in America. It is a gift that honors and defends the name of your God, and tells your children and grandchildren that your hope for their future lies in the gospel of Christ being lived out through active Christian citizenship.
Our new American Family Radio station in Northern Virginia must go on the air by the end of 2015 in order to establish a solid broadcast presence by the time our nation’s attention turns to the critical election campaigns of 2016.
