June 2015 – Fifty-seven percent of the world’s 6,901 languages have no Bible translation, according to the 2015 State of the Bible Survey. While work has begun on Bible translation for many of those languages, for 31% of languages, Bible translation has not yet begun.  Wycliffe Bible Translators hope to have a Bible translation in progress for every language in the world by 2025.

“Every year now, there are 130 to 160 new translations started,” said Bob Creson, president and CEO of Wycliffe Bible Translators USA. “There is more work going on than ever before. People have more access to Scripture in their first language than any other time in history.”
