October 2015 – Sudanese pastors Yat Michael (above left) and Peter Yen were jailed for seven months while they awaited a hearing on what amounted to six charges between the two of them. Michael was arrested after preaching at Khartoum Bahri Evangelical Church, and Yen was arrested after inquiring about Michael’s disappearance. The charges levied against them were enough to invoke the death penalty. In August, the court in Khartoum, Sudan, ruled that the pastors were guilty on two counts, but released them from prison without any further penalty.
