March 2017 –Ratio Christi, an international apologetics ministry to college students and faculty, opened a new chapter in Pakistan in 2016. Pakistan currently has the third largest Muslim population in the world. Persecution of Christians, as well as violence shown toward non-Christians, has proven to be a challenge faced by Pakistani officials as they are pressured by terrorist threats and extremist mobs.

While ministering to Pakistani Christians, the new Ratio Christi chapter will also reach out to the Islamic community with the gospel. Tyler Gaffeney, director of Ratio Christi, talks about its success in spite of persecution and hostility from the Islamic system: “Ratio Christi’s national director in Pakistan – name withheld – has taken a valiant stand for Christ, leading innumerable public outreaches to his Muslim neighbors, many of whom are hostile, and all of whom need Jesus. The evidence for Christ is so compelling that many are converting despite the dire consequences that face Muslims who leaves Islam. Here we see the light of the gospel shine even brighter against the dark backdrop of Pakistani Sharia culture.”
