July 2021On April 16, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a notice stating “HHS [Health and Human Services] is reversing its 2019 decision that all research applications for NIH grants and contracts proposing the use of human fetal tissue from elective abortions will be reviewed by an Ethics Advisory Board.”

The advisory board, formed by President Donald Trump two years ago, had recommended federal funds be withheld from 13 of the 14 applications involving the use of fetal tissue.

The need for ethical oversight was made obvious in documents obtained by Judicial Watch revealing how NIH and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have been entangled with the abortion industry to conduct taxpayer-funded scientific research.

The Federalist released emails, purchase orders, procurement logs, fee schedules, etc., providing evidence of wrongdoing prior to formation of the now dissolved Ethics Advisory Board. The documents revealed that the FDA bought organs such as livers, brains, and eyeballs of dismembered babies for hundreds of dollars apiece, sometimes resulting in an overall harvesting price of $2,000 per child.
