July 2021Idaho Gov. Brad Little (R) signed House Bill 377 on April 28, effectively preventing public schools and universities from advocating Critical Race Theory (CRT) in classrooms. Media outlets have emphasized that the bill prohibits indoctrination but fails to reject forced exposure to CRT.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) earlier explicitly banned CRT from that state’s civics curriculum, declaring that “there is no room in our classrooms for things like [CRT].”

American Family Radio’s Meeke Addison describes CRT as a force that will dismantle every institution America holds dear – family, democracy, truth, biblical fidelity. (See AFA Journal, 6/21.) With roots in Marxist and socialist theory, CRT is a major source of contention in today’s debates on appropriate education for U.S. students.
