February 2012 – New Walmart/P&G family movie – intrigue, inspiration
and entertainment
Game of Your Life, the latest title in the Family Movie Night series from Walmart and P&G, premiered in December. Family loyalty, integrity and honesty, and an admirable work ethic are the themes that resound throughout the film.

Zach Taylor, the main player, is a teenage “techie” to the nth degree, and he is ecstatic when he is accepted to study at the prestigious Digital Institute of Game Design. His widowed dad is about to lose his home because of business debts, but he is determined that his financial woes will not impact his son’s opportunity for success. Nonetheless, Zach carries his dad’s worries with him to school.

Fortune seems to be smiling on the Taylors when Marcus Bentton offers Zach a part-time job. This could be the ticket for Zach to meet his dad’s financial needs, but it is against DIGD policy for students to work during their first term. Zach’s desire to help his dad leads him to take the job anyway.

Zach finds himself burning the candle at both ends, and his studies soon begin to suffer. Bentton’s dual personality and Zach’s challenges are resolved in a way that reveals Bentton’s villainy and restores Zach’s integrity.

“For decades, this is what AFA has hoped for – and not been able to find in television movies. Now, P&G and Walmart are coming through for families,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon.

Out of the Darkness CAUTION
Out of the Darkness, produced by Anteroom Pictures, is a hard hitting but compelling story of two people: Shelley Lubben, who was trapped in the sex industry from a young age into adulthood, and Mark Houck, who was addicted to pornography for many years.

Interspersed throughout their narratives, Dr. Judith Reisman, an Alfred Kinsey expert, and Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons, a psychiatrist and marriage counselor, share facts and information as to how the family structure and our society have become vulnerable to the sexual revolution’s impact.

This documentary is an excellent resource for researchers, counselors or pastors who minister to victims of pornography or the sex industry. However, AFA urges strong caution. It includes frank discussions of sex, nudity, rape, prostitution and pornography.
