June 2014 – U.S. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) received special attention this year for her pro-abortion activism – Planned Parenthood’s annual Margaret Sanger Award. Sanger was a radical eugenicist who “consistently promoted racist ideals with a contemptuous attitude,” according to LifeNews.com. In particular, Pelosi has spearheaded efforts to direct more tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards described the Margaret Sanger Award as “our highest recognition of leadership, excellence and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement.”
Pelosi also recently received recognition in a very different way. When President Barack Obama presented Pelosi with a rosary that had been given to him and blessed by Pope Francis during the president’s recent visit to the Vatican, pro-life Catholics were offended. Both Obama and Pelosi are aggressively pro-choice in disregard of the traditional Catholic position.
