June 2019 – AFA Journal reported in March that Brian Kolfage, the most severely wounded U.S. airman to survive any war, had initiated a GoFundMe campaign to build the border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Americans donated more than $20 million toward the campaign. Since that amount did not meet his original goal of $1 billion dollars, Kolfage changed his plan. All donors were given the choice to roll donations over to We Build the Wall, a newly incorporated non-profit organization founded by Kolfage. At press time, a team of board members, advisors, architects, and builders were negotiating with private landowners to begin construction of the wall.

At webuildthewall.us, Kolfage writes, “Our highly experienced team is highly confident that we can complete significant segments of the wall in less time, and for far less money, than [could] the federal government.”
