March 2020 – Compassion International continues to have a profound effect around the world. According to a former beneficiary of the non-profit, it is also providing the opportunity for people to pour back into their communities. Angelica Echivarre, a teacher in the Philippines, grew up in Lorega, surrounded by drug abuse. After being found and ministered to by Compassion International, Echivarre learned how to practice her faith in Jesus with confidence. According to Compassion, the ministry has reached more than 94,000 children and partnered with 371 local churches in the Philippines. Echivarre still resides in her home country and now spends her time offering children that same life-giving hope in Jesus Christ that first changed her life.
