August 2021On June 13, AFA spearheaded a national effort to show gratitude for law enforcement with a day of prayer and appreciation. Over 10,000 people signed a pledge to pray for law officers that day.

“With negative press, malice, and growing violence against law officers, it is crucial that citizens, especially Christians, lift up those who wear the badge as local police, sheriff’s departments, and state police,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon.

AFA urges practical steps anyone can take at any time to support these heroes in uniform:

Urge your church to recognize and pray for law enforcement.
Thank law enforcement via phone calls, texts, social media posts, etc.
Make your thanks tangible by paying for an officer’s meal, gas, or groceries.
Commend law officers by writing a Letter to the Editor of your local newspaper.
