August 2021 – The Lord of the Rings and the fictional world of Middle-earth created by J.R.R. Tolkien are now the basis for an Amazon series filmed in New Zealand.
Multiple reports confirm that Amazon, with a budget of approximately $450 million for Season 1 alone, has hired an “intimacy coordinator” for the series. This position typically involves supporting actors/actresses during the filming of sexual or intimate scenes.
Additionally, the Auckland-based talent company, BGT, put out a call for extras “who are comfortable with partial or full nudity.”
Although no release date had been announced at press time, Movieguide founder Dr. Ted Baehr foresees the potential damage in this lewd direction. “Mounting evidence shows,” Baehr remarked, “that Amazon plans to pervert the wholesome and uplifting nature of Tolkien’s world. It is clear that Amazon intends to give this series the HBO treatment!”
