September 2021Students attending Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, who have not taken the COVID-19 vaccine will face additional fees beginning this fall.

To encourage vaccination, Rhodes announced in June that it will charge unvaccinated students a $1,500 Health and Safety fee per semester. The school said the charge will “cover the cost of mandatory testing” for the virus weekly.

However, once the Food and Drug Administration formally approves the vaccine, the college will require the COVID-19 vaccine for all students, staff, and faculty on campus.
