September 2021At 14 years old, known as “the lawn kid,” Nathan Adams opened a lawn mowing business. As he was too young to work anywhere else, he was inspired by his veteran grandfather to start mowing lawns.

“My grandfather passed in February, and I thought that maybe in his honor, since I had my own business, I could cut lawns for veterans for free,” he said.

The Tonawanda, New York, teenager started with the goal of mowing 50 yards for 50 veterans, but he has not stopped honoring his grandfather and those in the U.S. military community. He cuts the first round for free. Then veterans receive a discount every time he returns.
