April 2014 – “Lt. Dan” is a member of a conservative group that has been targeted by the IRS.

Actor Gary Sinise, famous for his role as Lt. Dan in the 1994 hit movie Forrest Gump, as well as Mac Taylor on the television show CSI: NY, is among Hollywood conservatives who belong to Friends of Abe.

In addition to requesting enhanced access to the group’s security-protected website, the IRS has questioned why Friends of Abe allowed conservative politicians such as Paul Ryan, Herman Cain and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Kevin James to speak at their meetings.

Jeremy Boreing, executive director of Friends of Abe, said, “Friends of Abe has absolutely no political agenda. It exists to create fellowship among like-minded individuals.”
