October 2014 – In a recent Gallup poll, approximately 40% of Americans said they attend a weekly service at a church, mosque or synagogue. Gallup has charted self-reported weekly attendance of religious services since 1939, and the percentage of those who attend has remained relatively constant over the years. In 1939, 41% reported weekly religious attendance; the 1950s saw a peak of 49%; and in 2013, the figure was 37%.
