Why does small minority seem so large?

October 2014 – The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in the latest National Health Interview Survey, the government’s annual assessment of American health and behavior, that less than 1.6% of adults self-identified as gay or lesbian and 0.7% as bisexual. While estimates have been made in past years on the percentage of the homosexual population in America, this survey is the first large-scale tool for measuring sexual orientations.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality said that the influence of this tiny 2.3% minority is based on intimidation, political support from the Democratic Party and wrongly equating gay activism with the civil rights movement.

“The number – 2.3% – confirms this is a sexual aberration. This is sexual and gender confusion. This is not analogous to the noble black civil rights movement in any way,” LaBarbera said.  “Yet with this amazing revolution they’ve created, they’re now dominating media, academia and the business world.”
