October 2014 – The release of AFA’s first feature film was an unqualified success, both on big and small screens.
Summer Snow stars Cameron Goodman, Garrett Backstrom, Brett Rice and Rachel Eggleston. It tells the story of 8-year-old Hallie Benson (Eggleston), a small girl with a very big heart. Hallie, her older brother and sister and their father struggle to put their lives back together after the death of the mom.
“Summer Snow is warm, funny and faith affirming,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon. “We are proud to offer this film as our first feature length film from AFS.”
The movie was released on July 25 only in theaters in Tupelo, Mississippi, where AFA is headquartered, and in Lexington, Kentucky, where most of Summer Snow was filmed.
The film also aired on UP TV cable network on August 17. Network officials said Summer Snow is the #2 movie premiere in network history, and it is the #1 movie of 2014 among women 25-54.UP TV focuses on family-friendly shows. It is available on most cable systems, as well as DirecTV and DISH Network.
Summer Snow was scheduled to re-air on the network on August 22 and September 1.
