January 2015 – About one-fifth of Americans access some form of religious media such as talk radio or television, or make statements about their faith online, according to a November Pew Research survey. In addition, 35% of Americans report attending religious services at least once a week.
Those who attend church, especially white evangelicals and black Protestants, are more apt to use media for religious purposes. Those who attend are almost six times more likely to listen to religious talk radio (35%) than those who don’t attend a service (6%). Thirty-one percent of adults who attend church weekly report sharing their faith online, compared with 8% of those who seldom or never attend church.
Forty-six percent of Americans see someone else share faith online.
