January 2015 – Students interviewed on Harvard University’s campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in October said that America poses a bigger threat to world peace than ISIS, and many added that America is, in fact, responsible for the existence of ISIS.
Campus Reform, a college news organization describing itself as exposing “bias and abuse on the nation’s college campuses,” videoed students responding to the question, “Who is a greater threat to world peace, America or ISIS?”
“American imperialism and our protection of oil interests in the Middle East are destabilizing the region and allowing groups like ISIS to gain power,” one student answered.
Another student said, “As a western civilization we’re to blame for a lot of the problems that we’re facing now. I don’t think anyone would argue that we didn’t create the problem of ISIS ourselves.”
