February 2016 – Rani’s mother was trafficked when she was 12. Now, Rani is growing up in the red light district. At age five, she is already accustomed to life in the sex industry, a fate that awaits her – and five million other Indian children. February 1-16, AFA and American Family Radio will join India Partners on the air, challenging listeners to raise funds to rescue children from this sordid environment.

“It’s a heartbreaking situation and a worthy cause,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon. “I urge readers to give.”

Breaking the need down to manageable amounts, $7.08 will rescue a child from a day in the red light districts, and $50 provides a week of safety for a child. Gifts of all amounts combine to keep children in safety.

IP (indiapartners.org) works with indigenous Christian groups in India to alleviate poverty and injustice, and share the gospel. AFA Journal writer Anne Reed traveled to India with IP in January and will write a feature in an upcoming issue.
