February 2016 – In the final days of November 2015, African troops from Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad, and Benin took part in an offensive against Boko Haram strongholds in Northern Cameroon. The soldiers killed more than a hundred Boko Haram fighters and freed 900 hostages being held by the terrorist group. The hostages had been forced into training camps to become suicide bombers and fighters.
According to International Christian Concern, the hostages released in November did not include the 219 Christian Nigerian schoolgirls that were kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014. The Sunni Muslim terrorist group has been staging attacks and targeting Christians for the past six years.
