December 2019Renowned Johns Hopkins University psychiatrist Paul McHugh has slammed the medical and psychiatric industries for what he calls reckless and irresponsible treatment of patients who claim to be transgender.

“Many people are doing what amounts to an experiment on these young people without telling them it’s an experiment,” said McHugh. He believes these gender confusions are rooted primarily in “psychological and psychosocial problems these people have.” He also predicts they will suffer long-term health problems.

“Can you imagine having a life where you need to seek doctors all the time, for everything, just to live?” McHugh asked. “Getting your hormones checked? Getting everything checked? That is something doctors should like to spare people of.”

A related story reports that between 2004 and June 30 this year, the Federal Drug Administration documented 33,478 adverse reactions suffered by patients taking hormone blockers (often used to stop puberty in children diagnosed with gender dysphoria), over 19,000 of those being serious, and over 6,000 leading to death.
