December 2019Once a bastion of wholesome, clean literature for children, Scholastic is now promoting “diversity” and political activism in its school reading fairs.

This year’s Scholastic school book fairs will feature selections with a wide variety of themes supportive of the LGBTQ and gender neutrality movements. For example, one book Scholastic is selling to kids is Star Crossed, a lesbian version of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet.

Scholastic has teamed up with We Need Diverse Books, a liberal non-profit organization, to bring about what they view as essential changes needed in the publishing industry. Scholastic’s new marketing focus targets younger and younger readers with the liberal, progressive agenda robed in diversity.
