October 2019 – On July 9, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed SB 104, which expands health care benefits to illegal immigrants in California between the ages of 19 and 25. Previously, if one was in California illegally, that person had to be younger than 19 to receive American taxpayer funding for health care. Now, that age extends to 25, and the change will cost the state nearly $98 million.
