December 2020In His Image is stunningly beautiful to the eye, thought-provoking to the mind, and challenging to the heart,” observed John Stemberger, president of Florida Family Policy Council, a strong Christian advocacy group.

“The film recaptures what is quickly becoming the lost secret of God’s design for the human experience in a world committed to promoting confusion and deception.”

Many Christian leaders have screened the film and support Stemberger’s assessment. The documentary is an invaluable tool for the church and for families to gather insights into biblical truths, facts of medicine and science, and ways to minister to victims of today’s radical “anything goes” sexual chaos.

The approach: compassion
Dr. James Dobson (photo, right "James Dobson 1" by Focus on the Family), is licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0, legendary family advocate and founder of Family Talk Radio, said, “In His Image presents a compassionate and biblical understanding of homosexuals, lesbians, transgender confusion, and other sexual identity concerns.”

“I just really, really want to commend and endorse the compassion with which this issue is [handled],” said Dr. Richard Land, president of Southern Evangelical Seminary. “It is very redemptive in its approach … it’s the approach that Christ would have us to take.”

Dr. Robert Jeffress (photo, left "Robert Jeffress" by Gage Skidmore is licensed under CC BY 2.0) concurred: “This film did a great job of blending biblical truth with scientific fact and Christian compassion.” Jeffress is a Fox News commentator and pastor of First Baptist Church Dallas.

The insights: countless
Jeffress added, “This film reminds us that change really is possible with the spirit of God.”

According to Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, “In His Image is foundational to understanding the debate that is raging in our culture today and why, as Christians, we believe what we do and why we should not shrink back or grow silent about the truth of Scripture.”

“This documentary helps people understand the issues so much better … understand the truth of the issue and then understand the pain that many, many people are dealing with,” remarked Jeff Shreve, pastor of First Baptist Church Texarkana and host of the daily radio/TV broadcast From His Heart.

Dobson said, “[Y]ou’re going to find it helpful and in harmony with the Word of God.”

The audience: churches, families, Christian leaders
“I fully believe every pastor and counselor and layman in the church should watch In His Image,” added Dobson.

Dr. Erwin Lutzer, pastor emeritus of Chicago’s Moody Church, said, “I encourage families to watch it together. We need it for this moment.”

“I cannot urge parents strongly enough to show this film, In His Image,” said Jeffress, “first of all, to their own [older] children. I believe churches, youth groups need to view this film as well.”

“I would encourage every church to show this film,” said Land. “I’d use it as an evangelistic tool. If you know people who have family members who are struggling with this, invite them to come over and watch it with you.”

Shreve insisted, “[A]ll people need to see it, but Christians especially need to see it because it will empower you to talk to friends, talk to neighbors, talk to family members in a way that gives you credibility.”

Dr. Michael Brown, prolific author, commentator on the church and culture, and president of FIRE School of Ministry, summarized the documentary: “In His Image … has been crafted with love and care by a team of producers and theologians and medical professionals and moms and dads and sons and daughters, all of whom unite with one voice to proclaim, ‘God has a better way!’”
