December 2020 – The Trump administration is continuing to break ground fighting human trafficking and child exploitation. The Department of Justice announced in September it would award $100 million in grants to combat the heinous crime. The money will also go toward victim services and housing.
“This is one of the top enforcement priorities of the department, and we’re on the forefront of this fight,” said Attorney General William Barr.
The administration also partnered with the National Center for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children to prevent online child exploitation. The Safety Pledge Campaign is designed to help prevent future cyber predators from exploiting, trafficking, and abusing children. Additionally, the initiative will provide free resources for parents, educators, and caregivers to learn about the risks of online exploitation and the dangers of human trafficking.
