January-February 2020AFA Journal associate editor Rusty Benson (photo above) retired November 22. “Having Rusty Benson in the office next door for more than 26 years has been a blessing and an honor,” said AFAJ editor Randall Murphree. “He was a model of integrity and professionalism. I’ll miss him a lot.”

In addition to his role with AFAJ, Benson handled editing and graphic design for other departments of AFA. Ed Vitagliano, AFA VP, observed, “Rusty Benson is one of the most conscientious, most gifted, and most focused men I’ve ever known.”

Canada Burns transferred from AFA’s IT department more than a year ago to work with Benson on graphic design and other business particulars to keep AFAJ on track. “Canada quickly adapted to her new role, so it’s been a smooth transition,” said Murphree.
