The bill’s author Connie Leyva said, “By ensuring abortion care is available on campus, students won’t have to choose between delaying important medical care, traveling long distances, missing class, or work.”

Gov. Gavin Newsoms (D) signed the bill into law October 11, requiring that 34 campuses in California provide the abortion pill by January 23, 2023. However, pro-life forces have stated they will challenge the bill in court., 9/16/19;, 10/12/19, 10/17/19
