October 2020Walt Heyer of Sex Change Regret, a Christian ministry offering help and hope for transgenders, knows firsthand the heartbreak of living a transgender lifestyle. Yet, Heyer’s expertise and personal experiences were discounted recently when YouTube censored and removed a video telling Heyer’s story of living as a woman for eight years. The social media site marked the video as “hate speech” because Heyer claimed that gender dysphoria in children is a childhood developmental disorder.

Dr. Jeff Barrow of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) denounced YouTube’s censorship of Heyer. “He is an expert on the transgender issue after having lived it and experienced it,” said Barrow, “and it is YouTube that is opposing science.”

Facebook is doing the same. In a recent announcement, the social media giant said “it is banning all posts from former homosexuals describing their personal faith-based journeys to a straight life,” according to OneNewsNow. Like homosexual activists, Facebook is claiming that such “conversion therapy” is harmful, especially to vulnerable teens.

AFA’s new documentary, In His Image (inhisimage.movie), addresses this and other LGBTQ issues including Heyer’s testimony of leaving the transgender lifestyle.
