October 2020 – In August, the Trump administration granted over $35 million to help house human trafficking survivors. The grants are expected to be dedicated to organizations across the U.S., providing short-term housing assistance to victims. The administration expects funds to also aid victims in need of permanent housing, employment, and counseling.
The action comes after the administration’s January decision to increase victims’ resources and prosecute criminals involved in human trafficking.
“These new resources expand on our efforts to offer those who have suffered the shelter and support they need to begin a new and better life,” said Attorney General William Barr.
