September 2020One organization in Minneapolis took proactive steps to rebuild the community after buildings were burned by angry mobs. The Man Up Club was founded eight years ago by Korey Dean, through Grace Church in Minneapolis. The club empowers young black men to make healthy life choices and prepares them for life beyond high school, such as a college education or a possible trade. Club members created a pop-up grocery store after rioters burned several local stores.

“For me, I have an advantage,” said Dean. “My advantage is my faith, my faith in Jesus Christ, and I believe that God is in control of all things.”

Dean and The Man Up Club prayed for justice among many who marched on the Hennepin Bridge in Minneapolis. “We band together under your spirit,” Dean prayed. “Help us to keep peace in this city … in this country … and all over the world.”
