April 2021On January 27, 2021, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the American Jewish Committee (AJC) announced a national campaign against antisemitism. The project, Mayors United Against Antisemitism, offers mayors across the nation an opportunity to sign a declaration that acknowledges the fundamental incompatibility of antisemitism with America’s core values.

Citing a significant rise in hate crimes directed at Jews, Tom Cochran, CEO and executive director of USCM, said, “[T]he statement we are inviting mayors to sign today provides a way for them to register their opposition to the dramatic increase in antisemitism we have experienced in our country and work together to reverse it.”

Mayors may join the initiative at mayors@ajc.org.
