March 2021Despite worldwide pandemic lockdowns and quarantines, 2020 was a productive year for archaeologists working in the Holy Land. From unearthing an ancient church built on a solid rock in biblical Caesarea Philippi to a fort discovered in the Golan Heights that was dated back to King David’s rule to a New Testament house church uncovered at Laodicea, each discovery is supported by biblical facts.

Perhaps the most exciting find for biblical archaeologists was the discovery of the remains of a palace believed to have belonged to King Manasseh, the evil ruler in 2 Kings 21. A large food distribution warehouse thought to be part of the palace is still being excavated nearby, so 2021 promises to provide even more exciting biblical news from Israel.
