March 2021Many Bible publishers and retail bookstores worldwide reported significant increases in Bible purchases during 2020. Comparing sales from March 2019 to those of March 2020, Tyndale House Publishers confirmed considerable increases, with as much as 60% increases for certain Bible editions.

Similarly, in just one week of April 2020, LifeWay Christian Resources saw a 62% sales growth over the same week of purchases in 2019. Another international Bible publisher, Alabaster Company, registered sales growths of up to 143% during 2020.

“We believe this is no accident, as people often go to the Bible as a source of hope in times of crisis and uncertainty,” explained LifeWay CEO Ben Mandrell. “People draw hope from Scripture because in it they see a God who is with us during our suffering.”
