October 2021In June, Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Research Center (CRC) released a study outlining the 10 most seductive and unbiblical ideas embraced by Americans.

Among them are: There is no absolute truth; people are not born sinful; and premarital sex is morally acceptable.

The data from CRC’s American Worldview Inventory (AWVI) 2021 also revealed that 6% of adults who claim to have a biblical worldview adopt many of these anti-biblical ideas into their personal philosophy.

Dr. George Barna, director of research for CRC, explained that most of the unbiblical ideas stem from man’s desire to be in control.

“Biblical Christianity is about giving God control, making choices that reflect His prescribed ways of life. That’s hard for Americans to embrace,” said Barna, who directed and analyzed the AWVI data. “A faith that esteems brokenness, submission, surrender, sacrifice, and simplicity is in some ways antithetical to the American ideal. But that is the ultimate choice that every one of us has to make.”
