October 2021A group of 70 advocacy and religious organizations from around the globe met together in July in Washington, D.C., for the first annual International Religious Freedom Summit (IRFS).

“At present, almost 80% of the world’s inhabitants live in countries where there are high levels of governmental or societal restrictions on religion,” the IRFS website reports. “Together we will gain political support for the global religious freedom movement and embolden religious groups, civil society, and governments to take stands for religious freedom.”

Throughout the three-day event, the goal was to highlight religious persecution and voice support for religious freedom around the world.

Familiar groups such as Family Research Council, Alliance Defending Freedom, Open Doors USA, China Aid, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, The Heritage Foundation, and many more participated.
