December 2014 – In a September meeting, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges questioned whether Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, meets NEASC standards for accreditation since the college prohibits homosexual practice and sexual relations outside marriage in the college’s life and conduct statement.

The NEASC has given Gordon College until next September to submit a report on how it has conducted a review “to ensure that the college’s policies and procedures are non-discriminatory.”

Michael Lindsey, president of Gordon College, stated in a September 20 interview, “Based on my conversations, I think that the board is quite satisfied with our current policy on homosexual behavior.”

If the college maintains its standard for sexual behavior, it risks losing accreditation.
