March 2014 –Polling by Rasmussen Reports indicates that 49% of potential U.S. voters approve of a mandatory waiting period before an abortion. This is the highest percentage favoring such a law since 2011. Thirty-nine percent oppose a waiting period, with the remainder undecided.
Twenty-five states currently require a waiting period of at least 24 hours before an abortion.
