September 2014 – Since 1993 Gallup has been asking Americans how confident they are in TV news. In the latest survey, only 10% of those asked said they had “a great deal of confidence” and 8% said they had “quite a lot.” This represents the lowest numbers Gallup has ever received on this issue.

The previous low came in 2012 when 21% of Americans responded with confidence. The highest came in the first survey when 46% said the news they received from TV broadcasters was both accurate and trustworthy.
