September 2014 – 2014 has seen a growing number of movies with Christian and biblical themes. However, according to Christian News Service/Nicea poll, Christians have reservations about Christian-themed movies. While 74% of Christians said they are likely to see a movie related to God, 79% added that biblical accuracy determines that decision.

However, when the scene is transferred to private homes, Christians appear to exercise less caution. According to a 2014 Barna study, the five television shows most watched by practicing Christians are, in the following order: NCIS, Big Bang Theory, CSI, Dancing with the Stars and Duck Dynasty. In comparison, the top five shows watched by all Americans are, in the following order: Big Bang Theory, NCIS, CSI, Walking Dead and Duck Dynasty.

In addition, when compared to all Americans, Christians watch more TV on a daily average than others: practicing Protestants – 3.1 hours; practicing Catholics – 3.5 hours; and non-Christians – 2.6 hours.

There is no difference between those who attend church weekly and those who have not attended in over six months.
