November 2016 – In early 2015, AFA revealed an opportunity to expand the American Family Radio reach farther into northern Virginia, an area called home by many U.S. government employees and others who work for government related employers The first step was to purchase WRAN radio station in Culpeper, Virginia.
“We had hoped to complete the project early this year,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon, “but FCC regulations, bureaucracy, and red tape delayed the process again and again.”
In early June 2016, AFR completely upgraded equipment and increased the station’s power, thus reaching far beyond its Culpeper, Virginia, location.
“We are thankful that it’s finally done,” said AFA vice president Buddy Smith. “And we’re especially grateful for our AFA/AFR partners who stepped up to make it possible financially. Now, we ask you to pray with us that AFR will begin to touch and change hearts in those with the power to change the course of our nation.”
