December 2017 – After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017, the Caribbean island received U.S. aid as well as a visit by President Donald Trump. A poll of 2,200 adults by Morning Consult revealed that about twice as many Americans who know that Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens supported the aid.
