June 2017 – Today’s dads say they spend more time around the house and with their kids than dads of the previous generation. The amount of time fathers spent helping with housework or caring for children in 2015 was more than double what it was in 1965, Pew Research has documented. Meanwhile, Mom has increased her time spent at paid work.
However, dads are twice as likely as moms to say they don’t spend enough time with their kids. Compared to how much time their own parents spent with them, 53% of moms and 46% of dads say they spend more time with their children.
More than half of both mothers and fathers admit that they find it hard to balance work and family responsibilities.
