November 2017 – Friend Ships, a ministry based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, has established and is operating Camp Ichay, a medical field clinic at the border of Israel and Syria. The Syrian side of the camp is located in the demilitarized zone of Golan Heights in South Syria, populated by about 80,000 people, many of whom were driven from their homes and sought safety in the area.

undefinedResidents had extremely limited access to medical care until Camp Ichay arrived on site. They now have free care similar to that of a family medical clinic, along with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Gently used coats, blankets, and sheets can be mailed for the Syrians to: Port Mercy, 1019 North First Avenue, Lake Charles, Louisiana, 70601.

Volunteer medical providers, interpreters (English/Arabic), security personnel, and site workers are needed. Volunteers arrange their own airfare to Tel Aviv. On site, they will stay in tents at the camp.
