November 2017 – State senators in Nebraska decided last May against LB173, a bill that sought to add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the state’s employment nondiscrimination statutes.

“Laws like LB173 are consistently used to criminalize anyone who speaks against it,” said Jonathan Alexandre, Liberty Counsel director of public policy. “This has been the case for countless business owners across the country who have been victims of the LGBT agenda.”

Alexandre made the remarks at a breakfast prior to the legislature’s debate on the bill. Nebraska joins 14 other states and 70 cities which have refused to adopt laws incorporating language demanded by LGBTQ activists.
