September 2017 – Ryan Defrates: Secret Agent earned the Gold Crown Award for Best Children’s Video at the 2017 International Christian Visual Media Awards. The children’s animated series was created by American Family Studios writer Kendra White and her brother Jeremy, a children’s pastor.

“Wow!” said Kendra White. “We are so excited and honored. Only God can take the ideas of a kid’s pastor and his sister and turn them into the best children’s film of the year!”

The winning entry was Episode 3, “The Courageous Scaredy Cat.” The series is produced in association with Cat in the Mill Productions, and more episodes are in production.

AFS director Jeff Chamblee lauded the Whites’ commitment to using their gifts for God’s glory.

He also revealed that the AFS feature film Summer Snow, written and directed by the same sister-brother team, continues to spread across the globe one country at a time. In addition to Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, talks are under way to license Summer Snow for broadcast in China.

“We’re grateful to the Lord for opening so many doors for this heartwarming story with its strong Christian worldview,” Chamblee said.
