September 2017 – The LGBT community is one that prides itself on inclusivity. However, Laurel Grauer, a Jewish lesbian, was told to leave a Chicago, Illinois, gay pride event because she was waving a flag with the Jewish Star of David on it.

“They were telling me to leave because my flag was a trigger to people, that they found it offensive,” she told Windy City Times.
